Sub : Reduction of Central Sales Tax

The Honourable Finance Minister had announced in his  Budget  Speech on  28th February 2007  that the Central Sales Tax  ( CST ) would be phased out beginning with a reduction  from 4 %  to 3 %  for 2007 -08.

The Department of Revenue has now issued a Notification dated 29th March 2007 giving effect to the reduction of CST to 3 %  from 1st of April 2007.

A copy of Notification and  a Press Release  issued  by  PIB  on the Subject are attached .
