Re. Meeting on Delay in Processing of Drawback Claims
 

Dear Member,

As we are all aware, Processing of Drawback Claims of Exporters both at Mumbai Port and J.N.P.T. is delayed inordinately in Customs on account of either non-filing of Export General Manifest (EGM) or filing of EGM with errors by the Shipping Compaines. This has resulted Rebate Claims worth Crores of Rupees from Merchant Exporters have been pending for Months.   

 

Accordingly, the Indian Merchant Chamber (IMC) has convened a meeting of Exporters, Shipping Compaines and Custom House Agents to discuss the issue to workout a solution on the Delay in Processing of Drawback Claims of Exporters on WEDNESDAY, 23RD MAY, 2007 AT 4.30 P.M.  in the Babubhai Chinai Committee Room (2nd floor), IMC Building, Churchgate, Mumbai.

 

Mr.K. M. Tiwari, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai and Mr. N. Sasihdharan, Chief Commissioner of Customs, J. N. Port have kindly consended to attend the meeting.
